Social Science 1: (Philippine History: Pre-hispanic to Contemporary Philippine History)

Philippine History deals with the study of Philippine history in the context of different schools of thought with emphasis to Filipino perspective.  Specific topics include definition and purpose of studying history, Philippine geography, as well as political, economic, social, and cultural conditions of the country from ancient times up to the contemporary period.  It also strives to employ methodology in the study of Philippine history which would prepare students to embrace a greater role as conscientious future leaders of the country.

Social Science 2: (Introduction to Geography, Economics, Demography and Political Science)

The course focuses on the study of the nature, history, philosophical and theoretical perspective of Geography, Economics, Demography and Political Science. It also deals with the comparatives analyses and relationships of the various Social Science disciplines. Relevant issues on these social science discipline will also be discussed to improve students’ critical thinking.

Social Science 3: (Introduction to Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology and Linguistics)

The course focuses on the study of the nature, history, philosophical and theoretical perspective of Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology and Linguistics. It also deals with the comparatives analyses and relationships of the various Social Science disciplines. Relevant issues on these social science discipline will also be discussed to improve students’ critical thinking.

Social Science 4: (Introduction to Philosophy and Logic)

The course focuses on the study of the nature, history, branches, toolkits of philosophy as well several central philosophical questions and influential ways in which other philosophers have sought to answer those questions.
